Phonic Scoupe Podcast and Interview

1. Where are you based right now and why?

Actually we are based in two countries. Tadas lives in Norway, Justas in Lithuania. Justas still studying in Lithuania and Tadas is working in Norway.

2. What is your favourite club/party in your area?

We’d like to pick 2 quite good clubs in Lithuania. Opium and Opalocka, both clubs are in Lithuania capital, Vilnius.

3. What is the one sure shot track in your set right now?

HearThug ‘Celestial Asterisms’ (Timo Maas remix)

4. Your alltime favourite DJ weapon Track?

It’s hard to pick one, but this track I still play in my sets.

5. Tell us, what are you planning next, that is important for you and that you are excited about?

Well , the answer to this question, we have to go back two years ago when we decided to Phonic Scoupe duo. The situation in Lithuania was really bad at that time, club culture was dying , one of the best clubs in Lithuania “Exit” moved from Kaunas, which, in our opinion, was the capital of underground music back then. Only few guys, like Mario Basanov, Kastis Torrau kept underground scene at that time. So when we started our Phonic Scoupe project, our main goal was get a place internationally, don`t focus on Lithuanian scene, follow European trend. Since then our main goal is to get place in international underground scene and everything else, what comes with it ( Managment, Big Lables, Gigs).

Tred Benedict Podcast and Interview

1. Where are you based right now and why?

I’m based in London currently. Right now I’m sat in cafe in Dalston, a great spot for people watching and hipster central . . . for the last thirty minutes I’ve been watching a man in his mid twenties dressed head to toe in tweed accompanied with a cane, grooming his immaculately shaped beard while pulling other various grooming tools, creams and lotions out of a crocodile skin box, the standard of up-keep is meticulous, it kind of reminds me of a well groomed hedge my nan had in her garden.

2. What is your favourite club/party in your area?

So I went to this party the other week, the people were really friendly, the music was great, we had some drinks etc then half way through the night everyone threw there keys in a bowl and we made love for hours, that was a pretty kool party. Club-wise a very good friend of mine who was responsible for running Cable Club (which tragically closed down) has opened a new amazing space called The Steelyard, holds around 800 people, lots of exposed brickwork, right on the Thames river and has a great sound system. I strongly advise you check it out next time your in London.

3. What is the one sure shot track in your set right now?

4. Your alltime favourite DJ weapon Track?

I keep those weapons close to my chest my friend as it took me years to find some of those special tracks but one that’s in the list which I don’t mind sharing with you is a record I have up high on a ledge in my front room unopened just waiting for the right occasion to make it rain

5. Tell us, what are you planning next, that is important for you and that you are excited about?

I have another release with Highgrade Records coming up which I’m really pleased about but at the moment my record label Spilt Milk Recordings is going from strength to strength. We have got some great releases coming up from myself and my label partner St. Bernard, as well as people like Alexi Delano, Italoboyz and lots of other artists we respect and have a real connection with so I think we are programmed up to about the 7th release at the moment so exciting times ahead for us.
